Part of getting a 'tune-up' is rest. We need to give ourselves 'permission' to do that. From 'Jesus Calling' it says, "Don't fall into the trap of being constantly on the go. Many, many things people do in My Name have no value in My kingdom."
I find that now--instead of conversation with each other we do a text--which requires no 'giving' on our part. We need not 'text' the Lord either.
A good reminder verse as to what is important is, "Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her." Luke 10:41 - 42

those little goats have stolen my heart away... so precious... and thanks for the reminder... you don't have to fret about me, i have no cell phone, and no way to text....and would not understand the text words if i got one..
ReplyDeleteSandra--thank you---my texting is famous far and wide--because it is a 'joke'---the little phone can't guess at what I am going to type--so things come out really strange.
DeleteWords of wisdom and beautiful picture.....I hope you are doing well.....
ReplyDeleteNancy---thank you---!
DeleteYes, Ma'am. I think of Martha and Jesus' comments to her often. The better part.

ReplyDeleteThank you Pamela
DeleteAppreciate the value of this. It seems like busyness has almost become a status symbol. Wonderful photo.
ReplyDeleteS. Etole----I agree totally and have noticed that forever.
DeleteNow this is a photo of extreme cuteness, I love it! This is a needed reminder for me. Yesterday I simply rested most of the day, it was cold and blustery and I finished a novel. I was amazed how much better I felt and reminded myself that resting isn't always a bad thing.
ReplyDeleteI'm visiting from Spiritual Sunday, have a blessed week.
Love it!
DeleteYour photos of these adorable kids are fantastic.I live on a farm and see any number of different animals being born.Animals know when they should rest, and how restoritive sleep and rest can be.In the country it's a quieter life, and in Portugal we live at a slower pace anyway. The siesta after lunch is still part of our culture, and it makes good sense to relax after a meal. All the texting that goes on makes me feel sad:(
ReplyDeleteBreathtaking---thank you for sharing this---good encouragement for all of us.
DeleteWonderful photo's of Kids..LOL
ReplyDeleteThank you Snapper 11 !
DeleteI love your photography Nava, it is beautiful, I can see gods hand guiding you in your photography.
ReplyDeleteKaren---thank you very much!
DeleteWhy is it that we all have so much trouble being quiet... even though it can be very profitable for us...
ReplyDeleteI am not sure---I know that the older generation thought it was a shame to take a nap---and yet would fall asleep in their chairs. Naps are heart healthy---quiet is mind healthy--at least for me--I need total silence to study. I have to work at being quiet and still--and being in the moment. We are a society of noise--running here and there. Thanks to everyone for your reply--nice to know that I am not the only one---
